The IRS Ethics course is an ethics training that is designed to help tax professionals understand and comply with the IRS Circular 230 regulations, which govern the practice of law before the IRS. The course is required for all Enrolled Agents (EAs) and is recommended for all tax professionals who represent clients before the IRS. The course covers only one course which is Ethics for Enrolled Agents.
This ethics training course also provides real-life examples of tax professionals who have violated Circular 230 and the consequences they faced. The IRS Ethics course is available online. It is typically offered by a variety of organizations, including the IRS itself, state and local tax authorities, and professional organizations for tax professionals.
